Kolja Raube et al.

19 December 2019-

24 January 2020

As an expansion of the existing EURO-ASIA Summer Program conducted by SNU GSIS, students conducted overseas field surveys according to the topic of their choice during the winter vacation. It included Kolja Raube, Assistant Professor at KU Leuven, who delivered a lecture to students on “The European Parliament: What? How? Why Bother?” in 10 January 2020. This programme was a result of expansion of the activities of the EU Centre which were formerly restricted during the summer vacation. It provided the students with an opportunity to maintain, expand and contribute to future generations of scholarships through conducting networking, in-depth discussions and lectures with professors and local students in the UK, France and Germany, and to prepare research reports for the field.

Four students received funding: Lee Eojin, Lee Chan, Baek Gyeongmin, Kim Seoyoung. They developed their own research plan for their field research during their visit in Europe. This covered the regional governance, European parliament cabinet, economy and culture, as well as current foreign affairs of the EU.
